The Salesman Would Call On The Telephone

Perspective Clients And Make Appointments 

To Sell Replacements Or A Completely New Set. 

Seen In The Display Ad. 

They Sat For Hours Making Connections, 

Hoping To Assign A Visit. 

They Were Fast Talkers. 

With Samples And Photos. 

It Was Done So Quickly, 

A Sale Was Completed And The Wait 

For Reading, Was Dreamed About. 

When The Boxes Arrived And Were Opened, 

The Smell Filled The House. 

The Set Was Up On A Shelf, 

Which Did Not Last Long. 

When Reading One, It Referenced

Other Topics To Research. 

This Means, Four Or Five Would Be Opened 

On The Table. 

To Complete The Mission Of Gaining Information. 

The Phone Would Ring,  Question Was Asked, Are You Happy. 

And A Supplement Would Arrive.  

Before You Know It The Shelf Was Jammed. 

Original Set Was Twenty-Six.

And Additional Twenty Came, 

 Every Two To Four Months. 

The Price Was Very Affordable.

After Five Years, There Was A Call. 

A New Set Was Released, An Appointment Was Made. 

The Cycle Was Started All Over Again. 

The Smell, Reading, And Happiness. 

Wonder Where The Mirror Went.
